Does it give you the same "World of Warcraft.lnk.Temporary" error? Have you tried running the shortcut as administrator?

if it still does not work run the Program Files\World of Warcraft\Patches\WoW-2.0.0-to-2.0.3-enUS-Win-patch\BNUpdate.exe as administrator. worked for me

ok i have a problem i can log into the game i can run around major cities as long as i want but when it comes to leaving the cities i get 20 seconds out and BAM the computer freezes i am currently using Vista Home Premium how would i fix this i used the run as admin option and still the same any ideas

I can log in fine on my vista, 945gma graphics, 224mb, but when i do the 1.0 to 2.01 update it wont work, I did run as admin also. Any ideas??

I got it to work! I had to run the patch seperatly from the downloader, went to program files then worldofwarcraft, right clicked on patch and ran as admin. Worked great. I have the 945gma from intel, I can run wow just fine, had to raise the resolution to highest to make it act right and turn graphic down in game, works fine though.

are there any settings in vista that might effect my latency in World of warcraft. i usually run on +-600ms lately its going into the thousands 2000-25000ms. its terrible.

BTW: I opend dxdiag and it says that my 3d acceleration and all that other stuff aren't availible...:S maybe that's the problem.. but i don't know how to fix it i searched on the internet for dxdiag problems but i got only hits for windows xp... and I have vista so that wasn't really helpfull...

ok here what i did for the patch problem; go to any site download the patch you need.. and when i did that it started to update itself again now my only problem is the 3d acceleration.. still lloking on internet to fix it but nothing yet..

Have had nothing but problems with this Vista OS, I just right-clicked the desktop icon for WoW and selected "run as Administrator." WoW started, then restarted, then WoW downloaded and installed the updates.

Ive had WoW installed on my Vista Home Premium computer for about a month
i f***ed up my computer really bad and i did a system restore
(yay)
and now i have to install WoW again
i installed it the first time, restarted it and it comes up with the startup page or whatever
it says it is downloading the patch int eh bottom left, and then the window just dissapears!
i dont know if i should go into the patch folder and run it based on suggestions, but i am the only user on the computer (the adminisrator)
i dont share my comp!!!!! lol
anyway i am reinstalling it now, so i cant try anything right awat but this happened to me before and i dont remember how i fixed it

My problem is I cant delete a temp file that has show up on my desk top called ... "World of Warcraft.lnk.temp" everytime I try to move or delete it I get an error message telling me it cant be located.

i just bought my ACER laptop today, i tried to install WOW, and it failed to create the directories...im running vista ultimate and ive reinstalled hoping for the best....

im gonna try setting all my files to administrater settings..

what is the problem if blizzard downloadder says "lost internet connection"

when i tried logging into wow today i could not get on it said you need a patch to play log on click restart to install patchs so i clicked on it then it says unable to install patchs please try again later if the problem persists try reinstalling.

I tried it this way some hours ago but didn't get it to work so I decided to reinstall WoW but the problem was still there. It seemed as if the computer wouldn't let me change the name of or delete files in anyway. Even though I was on admin user and I had tried the right-click run as admin thing. I told myself that it had to be something with vistas stupid protection so I right click and check properties and tried some things. After a while I found that it's possible to run the program in a sort of mode. I don't really know what it's called in english but in swedish it's "Kompatibelitetsläge" this allowed me to choose between different operating systems and since WoW worked just fine on XP i tried that one. After a pretty long loading time the uppdate started and finished without any errors. Great! :)

Thanks m8. Just loaded vista home premium for the misses and installed WoW but couldn't update it. Your info worked great! I owe ya a frosty pint! Oh and I have a 62 hunter and a 29 pally :)

When I put in the disc to install WoW, it asks me to allow or not, so I allow it then there is an error. It is not installed yet because it happens at the installation startup, tried the right click but it didn't work. No administrator thing, anyone know what to do?

I have similar problem to some people on this forom, but mine lets me on the starting bit of wow and then i can put in my account name and password, but it go's onto the download and says 100% or 0% completed ( forgot which one ) Does any one no how to fix this?? i am guessing there is a way but not thought of it yet.

I just got a brand new dell with vista and the first time i tried to load up world of warcraft i accidentally clicked cancel installation. So i tried it again after loading all the cds and it reached 100% an error popped up saying that it could not replace a wow.temp file. So i deleted the file and tried installing it again. This time it completed and everyting was fine until I tried to load up WoW. It said there was an error with my realmist folder. SO i went to my realmlist and tried to change the realm to a funserver then back to wow but the computer said it could not find the realmlist so i unistalled WoW. I tried to install wow again but at 100% it said it could not replace the wow.temp folder so i deleted it tried to install it again and at 100% it said there was the same error, so is there a way i could reset my computer to factory settings, cause i havnt done anything else on it of does someone have another solution? I NEED HELP
